Your natural solution for pain relief, pain management, and pain prevention.
Mission: Reduce or eliminate your pain. Increase your range of motion so you will feel more fluid and less limited in mobility. Discover that your body has the amazing ability to heal itself. Empower you with the tools needed to experience these changes daily, not just in the treatment room. Above all, helping you to restore the quality of life that you wish to have in as few visits as possible.
I specialize in effectively reducing or eliminating chronic and acute pain such as: low back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, hip pain, pelvic floor dysfunctions, repetitive strain/stress injuries, piriformis syndrome, whiplash, sciatica, knee injuries, plantar fascitis, and many more. If we've not significantly reduced your pain and increased your range of motion within 5 visits*, I'm missing my mark and we'll discuss referring you to another healthcare practitioner. There are times when what is going on is completely out of my Scope of Practice or skill level, such as a torn ligament or a disc that is oozing like a jelly doughnut.
*This statement is applied to the original reason we began working together. You don't get to add on new aches and pains, because that's just not playing fair. I won't hold them against you though and we'll plug away at those as well. It should also go without saying that this is with the assumption that you are being diligent in your home care regimen, working to get yourself better. But I said it anyway.
What does a session look like?
Cross patterning or breathing correctives may be introduced through your session to reconcile change between the body-mind connection.
How will you feel?
What makes Two Rivers Bodyshop different?
The work I do allows me to tap into and reprogram the neural pathways that need some tweaking for you to enjoy pain free movement. We'll tap into the CNS, PNS, and SNS to treat you as a whole. Sounds heavy. All you need to know is that you'll get some really fun, effective therapy.
Two Rivers Bodyshop is a Massage Therapy based practice, but I don't consider myself a Massage Therapist. Bodyworker, yes. Manual Therapist, yes. Soft Tissue Superhero...well...only if I get to wear a cape. My LMT credential is what gives me the legal 'license to touch' in the State of Illinois. The spectrum of what Massage Therapy is and covers is extensive. I happen to be swimming in the limitless potential of a neuroscience based practice.
If you really need a title to assign to me, the most accurate would probably be: Soft Tissue Rehabilitation Specialist.
I still may decide to wear a cape from time to time though.
Pain takes over every aspect of your life. It’s mentally exhausting. It can be an emotional wrecking ball. Physically, pain can drain you of every ounce of energy you once possessed.
Pain can sneak its way into your life and take away precious moments you will never get back. It prevents you from being fully active in your life, in your spouse’s life, in your children’s lives, in your grandchildren’s lives. You have to schedule your life around your pain. How long can you stay before the pain kicks in? What time do you need to take your pills and will you be somewhere that you can do so? It’s not fair and it just plain sucks. Continue reading
My husband tells me, ‘You’re a Massage Therapist who doesn’t do massage’. I find it funny that I have become the Soup Nazi (a la Seinfeld) of the Massage Therapy circa in my little town. I have my reasons. This town is saturated with Massage Therapists. When I first moved here there…
